With measurements of 30' x 20' x 12' tall, and weighing in at a
whopping 213 lbs., LOUIE, the largest member of the Oregon
Dungeness Crab Commission's promotional "staff" is hard to miss!
Sporting dark "shades" and an attitude, to match, the giant
inflatable is out to prove that "Oregon Dungeness is one cool
crab..."
Constructed out of 225 yards of vinyl-coated nylon, LOUIE, the world's largest inflatable Dungeness crab, travels around the country hanging out at restaurants and retail locations that are featuring "Oregon" Dungeness during targeted promotions. He can also be found "parking his shell" at special events, like the 100th Boston Marathon, where he welcomed all the Oregon runners as they crossed the finish line.
To date, LOUIE has traveled to New Jersey, California, Nevada, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts (three times - we think he's got a girlfriend there), Georgia, Washington and ...Shanghai, China, on behalf of Oregon's crab industry, stopping at each location long enough to show 'em who's the cool crustacean...
For more information about LOUIE and how you can use
him to "pump up" your Oregon Dungeness crab sales, contact the
ODCC at (541) 267-5810 or by email: dcrab@ucinet.com
